WILLOW WORKDAY - BIOENGINEERING AT BYRNE PRESERVE
Help us restore wildlife habitat at Byrne Preserve through bioengineering with live willows!
Who: Volunteers of all ages are welcome; minors under 18 require a signed waiver and children under 12 require an accompanying adult. Groups can contact Kristen Williams at kristen*grassrootsecology.org for their own special program dates/hours.
What: Help us restore wildlife habitat at Byrne Preserve though bioengineering! Volunteers will help create willow bundles and install them along the creek bank. This process will help combat erosion, and eventually the willow bundles will grow to be willow trees!
When: 9:30 AM - 12 PM, Monday, December 19
Where: Meet at 9:30 AM at the parking lot along Altamont Road, right next to Westwind Community Barn (nearest address is 27210 Altamont Rd in Los Altos Hills).
Please wear/bring: Long pants and clothes that are good to do physical outdoor work in and can get muddy. Sturdy closed toe shoes, an additional pair of rainboots is highly encouraged. We provide tools and gloves. All minors are required to bring a signed waiver.
If after you have registered, you find you cannot attend, please notify kristen*grassrootsecology.org so that your place will be available for another volunteer.
