WILL OVERMAN

FACEBOOK | WEBSITE

Will Overman’s incomparable voice is at once melodic as it is relentless, as refreshingly unique as it is familiar and evocative.

Overman’s music — call it Americana, a mix of folk, country, rock, and pop — is as energetic as it is passionate. It can be haunting and evocative yet sincere, sweet.

Musically and lyrically, Overman draws deeply from his Virginia roots, producing a rare combination of enticing straight-ahead, hard-charging rhythm and riffs and introspective melodies paired with sleek vocals. He takes on love, life and loss. All with an edge driven deep in reality.

Whether performing solo or with a full band, Overman is a poet, reminiscent of a young Bruce Springsteen, (think “Nebraska”) or Bob Dylan. He’s a folksinger and a rocker (think “Born to Run”), whether performing solo or fronting a talented group of musicians swinging from flawless riffs to intoxicating beats.

And while his music is rooted deeply in the South, it transcends genres and convention, blending essential elements of rock, folk, and country, wrapped in a thin varnish of pop sensibility, to create a concoction reminiscent of Ryan Adams, Josh Ritter, with the softness of James Taylor.

In 2017, Overman found himself at a crossroads, both literally and figuratively, professionally and personally. He said farewell to the band that has borne his name over the past several years and embarked on his first solo project since 2013.

Drawing comparisons to Jason Isbell and Damien Rice, Overman carries an unwavering commitment to his music and to his fans. Soulful and unforgettable. Addictive and sometimes playful. Meaningful and real. Those factors, plus a transcendent passion and unyielding commitment to his craft, are what truly define this rising, must-see young artist, who has only just begun what promises to be a long and fruitful musical journey.

THE JUDY CHOPS

FACEBOOK | WEBSITE

For the past decade, The Judy Chops have been carving out their niche in the Virginia music scene by delivering heartfelt, passionate live shows with charm and grace. This musical family was born in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, and has grown from a small roots music act practicing in the office of Natural Chimneys Park, to a touring 'Americana Brassband' that Huffington Post has lauded as 'genre-defying!'

Combining elements of blues, rock, swing, soul, and classic country, this group of musical chameleons appeal to audiences young and old with their modern take on vintage sounds!

Where do I park?

Bright Box is located at 15 N. Loudoun St. on the beautiful pedestrian mall in Old Town Winchester. The nearest parking is the Braddock Auto Park at 30 N Braddock St. This is about a block away from the venue. The parking garage does have several handicap parking spaces available.

Once you've parked in the garage you'll exit toward the pedestrian mall. Once you hit N. Loudoun you'll make a right and Bright Box will be on your right a few storefronts up, directly across from the Old Court House Civil War Museum

More information about the garage can be found here: https://www.winchesterva.gov/parking/garage-information

Is Bright Box handicap accessible?

Absolutely. The venue is handicap accessible and ADA compliant. The infrastructure in Old Town Winchester is friendly toward those with physical challenges or in wheelchairs. Park in one of the close-by parking garages and come to the main door at 15 N. Loudoun St. (the walking mall). We ask that you arrive when doors open, and we will be happy to escort you to a place best suited to your needs in the theater or to take you to the elevator to access the upstairs Out of the Box room.
