About this Event

Fernhill Wetlands is home to a rich diversity of mammals. However, many of them are are difficult to observe - if you don't know how to look for them. Wildlife tracking offers a way for us to learn about their presence, how to pay attention to our surroundings and recognize signs of past events. This class will introduce you to the art and science of wildlife tracking, a skill that allows you to read the story of wildlife in an area. Learn about track patterns, trail patterns, gaits, as well as about the ecology of the area and the biology of any wildlife whose tracks we encounter.

This course will take place outside rain or shine in a muddy environment, please wear appropriate clothing. You may also want to bring a notebook, camera, or even your favorite local wildlife guide.

This class is free and open to all, however registration is limited to only 15 people.

  • If the class is full, please add yourself to the waitlist.
  • If you are registered and won't be able to attend, please cancel on your registration on Eventbrite, so that another person can take your place.

Children under 18 years old will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

This class is sponsored by Clean Water Services.
