Wild Wednesday - Preparing for Maple Syrup Season

About this event

Join us on January 26th, 2021 for Wild Wednesday at Deerassic Park! OSU Extension Noble County and Agriculture/Natural Resources Educator, Christine Gelley, will be presenting Preparing for Maple Syrup Season! Maple syrup is one of the region's favorite treats that utilizes a plentiful natural resource in Ohio. Many people are drawn to the idea of making maple syrup, but managing a maple grove for syrup production is more complicated than just adding a tap to a tree to collect sap. Whether you are brand new to the idea or an experienced syrup producer, this class is for you! We will discuss weather conditions, maple identification and management, syrups for the market, and value added maple products. This event is for ALL ages. PRE-REGISTRATION now open at deerassic.com or pay upon arrival. Please park at the Education Center and enter through the Education Center doors. Welcome Center and gift shop will be open after the seminar!
