The second event in our Women in Leadership & Design’s (WILD) speaker series “WILD Voices” is on Monday, March 27, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. PT. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, please join us for a live virtual talk where Alejandra Castelao, Design Manager of Accenture Song's Connected Products & Spaces team, will share her journey and process with us — “From ID to XR.”
Alejandra Castelao has over a decade of experience helping Fortune 500 companies and early-stage startups bring their ideas to life. With a BA in Industrial Design and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Design, she’s skilled in designing experiences at the intersection of digital and physical. Before joining Accenture Song, she worked for renowned design consultancies such as frog design and led the physical experience design and deployment of primary care facilities for Forward, a healthcare startup named one of Time Magazine's best 25 inventions of 2017. Learn more about her background and work at: http://alejandracastelao.com/projects.
Get ready to hear about the future of XR and the Metaverse as Alejandra discusses the potential for industrial designers to get involved in this rapidly developing field. As an experienced industrial designer with a passion for creating immersive experiences, she has experimented with a variety of applications like Gravity Sketch and Shapes XR, as well as immersive platforms like Horizon Worlds and AltSpace. Alejandra will share her best practices and recommendations for upskilling in this emerging domain.
Our “WILD Voices” speaker series features Bay Area women and non-binary design leaders. Together we explore singular journeys in leadership and design, and delve into imaginative perspectives on the industry. Sharing these speakers’ unique points of view and stories of lived experience drives visibility for new models of creative leadership that expand our collective possibilities.
See you there!
ABOUT US
Women in Leadership & Design (WILD) is an initiative of AIGA San Francisco. Our mission is to amplify women and non-binary designers’ collective power and visibility. We mobilize and energize impact in design leadership by focusing our work on connecting, elevating, sharing, and educating designers in our community. Often, we do this through events like group meals, speaker series, workshops, meetups, and more. We exist to redesign leadership, together. Learn more about WILD here.
SUPPORT US
We are committed to keeping events accessible to all participants. As a 501(c)3, we greatly rely on the community’s generosity to help support WILD programs and events. The event is $5 but an additional donation would go a long way. Your generosity is very much appreciated. If the ticket cost is a barrier, please contact wild@aigasf.org.
