8pm May 12th, 2012 at the Armory Center of the Arts in Pasadena
There’s a place that exists. It used to hold munitions, but now children play in it all day making art. One of our main goals in performance is to be inspired by the space we’re performing in — this program is about the Armory itself. It’s about, people, art, war and peace.
Music by and inspired by:
- Andrew Tholl's bombastic still not a place to build monuments or cathedrals
- world premieres about war and peace by Christopher Rountree, Andrew McIntosh, Nick Deyoe and Chris Kallmyer
- and a staged performance of Stravinsky's Soldier's Tale with libretto by Kurt Vonnegut
$20 cash at the door
When & Where
We make music. New music. Old music. Dissonance. Consonance.
We’ll play it, as long as we love it.
wild Up is a modern music collective, comprised of young Los Angeles area musicians, committed to creating eclectic, vibrant art.
The idea is: take modern compositions, revitalizations of ancient music, unusual performance spaces, a flexible band of brilliant musicians and mix them together.
Next, question the "Art Music" concert experience itself...
