Description

Join us for a Wild Skills Adventure at Mount Rainier National Park on Sunday, November 12! This event is for girls ages 7-15 and will feature a snowshoe tour with lessons in the mountain’s diverse ecosystems.

Schedule for the Day:

The event starts with registration at Paradise Visitor Center, you’ll register and get your specialized Wild Skills snowshoe worksheet. At this point parents/chaperones are free to leave - please note pick up is at the same location at 1pm.

If you’d like to stay and help, sign up to volunteer here.

From there you’ll meet up with your team for the day and be introduced to your volunteer leaders. You start the day at the Paradise base area with a lesson in Leave No Trace principles and a ‘gear check’ to make sure you brought your 10 Essentials.

Once everyone is checked in and ready to go, we’ll meet up with the rangers and start out on our snowshoe adventure. Throughout the adventure, teams will learn about the varied ecosystems linked by the rivers that flow from the mountain, and the incredible structures of plants and animals that allow them to survive, grow, and reproduce in this dynamic landscape. We will break for lunch in the middle of the hike (weather dependant) and then return to the Paradise Visitor Center around 1pm.
