Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Join us for a WILD PUMPKIN ADVENTURE at Beck Family Farms, in Centerfield, Utah (two hours south of Salt Lake City).

Experience Adventure-filled, family-friendly course through Beck Family Farms. Climb Mount Everest (a giant straw bale pyramid), explore the Great Wall (of straw bales), hunt for golden treasure pumpkins in the pumpkin patch (find one, get it through the rest of the course with you and get a chance to win one of our awesome prizes), run through the corn field, and weave your way through our "Spider's Web." There will be exciting obstacles you won't find anywhere else (like pumpkin chuckin')!

You can race through the course or take as long as you like and enjoy a bit of exercise, get a taste of farm-life, and have fun!. There will be multiple "stations" where you can get a drink of water, trick or treat for some candy, take a rest (if needed) and breathe in the fresh country air.

Our competitive event starts at 10:00 am (if you happen to be late, we'll still get you checked in and let you run, but your chances of winning the race will drop dramatically). Be there by 9:30 am to check-in, because we will start ON TIME. Participants must be over 5 years old and able to do the course on their own. There will be trophies for the men and women winners of the 13+ division and the boy and girl winners of the 5-12 year old division. Because this event is a timed race, participants will skip the "Golden Pumpkin Hunt" and race straight to the finish line. An additional prize will be available for anyone who can beat the "Elite" time of the event's founder Dan Beck.

The Fun Run event starts at 2:00 pm. Be there by 1:30 pm to check-in, because we will start on time. This race won't have a time clock for you to race against so you can go at your own pace and not feel guilty. This is the best option if you have never tried anything like this before in your life. Anyone can make it through the course regardless of age, fitness level, or experience. The final obstacle of the Fun Run event will be the "Golden Pumpkin Hunt." You'll have to hunt through the pumpkin patch to find a Golden Pumpkin to win one of our prizes.

While kids of any age can and are encouraged to complete the individual and team events, smaller kids can sign up to run through our short kid's course (and run through it as many times as they like during the day). The kid's course will be open from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, so your kids can run through it before, during and after the other events.

If your family wants in on the fun, buy our Family Pass. That will let any members of your household (mom, dad, moody teenagers, overexcited kids, whatever) run in any, or even all of our races. Race against the clock in the morning, have lunch and let your kids run through our kids' course a few times, and then enjoy our Fun Run in the afternoon for one low price!

Lunch will be available for purchase (supporting a local school group) at the Farmer's Market!

And don't just stay for the Wild Pumpkin Adventure. There is an awesome kid's straw maze ($1.50 per person), mini-golf, multiple photo-op locations, and a Farmer's Market with more kinds of pumpkins and squash than you ever thought possible. (You will find more than 75 varieties of pumpkin and 75 varieties of squash available for purchase, in addition to jams/jellys/breads, and other in-season vegetables and fruits).

The Deadline to sign up is October 1, 2017! We may accept some late entries if there is still space available, but no guarantees, so don't wait. There is also a chance that either the Competitve or Fun Run events will sell out before October 1, 2017, so don't wait until the last day to get registered!

Do not come expecting the Wild Pumpkin Adventure to be easy, but do come expecting to have a fun event that anyone with enough determination can complete.

The course is being designed and directed by Dan Beck (who grew up on the farm and currently runs as an Elite racer in Spartan races and Ultra-trail runs of all types).

Dan is a member of the Warrior State of Mind obstacle racing team from Utah. The night before the Wild Pumpkin Adventure, the Warrior State of Mind team will put on a "Nightmare" event for Warrior State of Mind members. The event is specifically designed to test the mental, physical, and psychological limits of each participant. If you are interested in joining Warrior State of Mind and participating in the Nightmare Event, please email warriorstateofmind@gmail.com for more information. Last year's Nightmare involved participants creating a stretcher and then carrying a 210-pound man through the course, including up and over Mount Everest!

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

For the competitive event all participants must be at least 5 years old and able to complete the course on their own (parents can follow along with younger children if needed). For the Kid's Course, participants must be 12 years old or under. All participants under the age of 18 will require the signature of a parent or guardian on the liability waiver. For the Fun Run, we will not put an age restriction, but know that there will be some obstacles that could be unsafe and/or difficult for small children (they can skip them if they want). You WILL BE required to stay together with your small children and ensure their safety on the course. A fit and determined person could pull a wagon or push a large-wheeled stroller through the course (other than the obstacles). If you want to take the whole family through the course, letting your kids (and spouse) dominate the obstacles, but you just want to walk along with a baby in a wagon, signing up for the Family Pass is a great idea. All participants (or their responsible parent) must sign a liability waiver before participating.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There will be a field on the Southern part of Beck Family Farms available for free parking. Follow the signs to the Farmer's Market and continue on past the Market, the mini-golf area and the huge pumpkin sheds. Parking will be on your right once you get to the open fields.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Email Dan Beck at beck_dan@hotmail.com or call at 208-206-5588.

Can I volunteer to help with the event?

Please contact Dan Beck at beck_dan@hotmail.com or 208-206-5588 on or before October 1, 2017 for more information.

What does the course look like?

We won't finalize the course until a week or so before the Event, but you will be going through the pumpkin patch, through a corn field, and more. There will be at least 15 obstacles and 2-3 miles of trail.
