Wild Paws Forum: Coexisting with Minnesota Wildlife

Monday, September 25, 2017, 6:00-8:30pm

Wildlife Rehabilitation Center Of Minnesota

2530 Dale Street North

Roseville, MN 55113

Wild Paws will be hosting our second evening of discussion on the topics of what wild animal rescue is, the differences between wildlife rehabilitation and release, and the need for wildlife sanctuaries. We will also present on the Minnesota wildlife species that need rescue, where our rescued animals could come from, and how we can coexist with our wild neighbors.

Special guest speakers include Trista Fischer and Noemi Plantz, DVM.

Trista Fischer has a degree in Ecology, Evolution and Behavior. She is currently a keeper at a well-renowned zoo and was Lead Keeper at an exotic animal sanctuary for 10 years. “Many people do not understand what some of these animals face day to day, when residing in make-shift cages and in people's backyards. Exposing these and other truths of wildlife trafficking are critical to inspiring others to take action, push legislative support on behalf of these animals and making our communities safer.”

Dr. Noemi Plantz is a licensed veterinarian at Cedar Pet Clinic in Lake Elmo, MN. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. She has years of experience working with a wide variety of species ranging from pet dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, and reptiles. She has also worked extensively with exotic feline species such as lions and tigers, as well as all native species of wild cats.
