Description

Set in the heart of Wilcox County, Histotic Camden, Alabama, is the site of the Wilcox Historical Society's Annual Pilgrimage, Saturday, March 28. This year's event starts with a Welcome Reception Friday Night, March 27, at 6:00 pm, on the grounds of RiverBend Plantation. This special event will feature wine, hor d'oeuvres and guest speaker, Mr. James Farmer, noted Southern author and interior designer. His visit is sponsored by The Pecan on Broad and The Brittany House Antiques.

Saturday's Tour of Homes includes six Camden area historic homes, a Living History Event at Liberty Hall, the First Presbyterian and Associate Reformed Presbyterian Churches in Camden, Camden's Shoe Shop Museum, Governor Miller's Law Office, as well as many other downtown sites. Both the Welcome Reception and Tour of Homes are included in the Pilgrimage Ticket Package. In addition, ticket holders are invited to a complimentary Southern Breakfast at The Brittany House Antiques in Oak Hill from 8:30 am - 10:00 am Saturday morning.

The Grand Finale is Saturday night with the First Annual Pilgrimage Ball at Historic Wakefield in Furman, AL. Sponsored by the Furman Historical Society, the Pilgrimage Ball will feature period music by the string band Un-Reconstructed. Antebellum period civilian dress or formal attire is requested. The Pilgrimage Ball requires a separate ticket also available on eventbrite.com at this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/89193884309. Only 200 tickets will be sold to the Ball.
