Wikipedia Workshop
Event Information
Description
Training by Rajene Hardeman & Kristen Treglia
About the workshop:
As professionals and researchers, we are often called to expand upon reference material as well as share expertise and knowledge with peers, patrons and the general public.
One of the basic Wikipedia skills is learning how to edit pages and dive into the Wiki world with confidence. This 3-hour session is for true beginners as well as dabblers and those who want to increase their participation. We will cover the Wikipedia global arena, how Wikipedians (and librarians and researchers) are using Wikipedia, discover our personal and professional interests and, most importantly, learn how to edit properly and with boldness.
After a brief presentation of the core skills (in M39), the workshop will turn hands on and move to the DASH Lab (M36) for the remainder of the training.
