October's Special Presentation:

Opioid Epidemic

The Opioid Epidemic

The Role of the Financial Advisor

As the staggering numbers of opioid addiction, overdoses & deaths continue to escalate, so does the threat on the economy, family finances, and retirement dreams.  Last year, drug overdoses were the leading cause of deaths in Americans under the age of 50, and as we face the worst drug crisis in American history, there’s a high probability that you or your clients have already been touched by this epidemic. Protecting your clients' assets goes far beyond insurance, investments, and deploying tax-saving strategie. Are you prepared to guide your clients through this unforgiving battle? Can you identify a client who is struggling or who is being financially exploited by a loved one struggling with opioids? Will you know what questions to ask or resources to offer?

Having lost her husband to accidental overdose, Cheryl Canzanella Goodell, LUTCF Brokerage Director with MassMutual, will share her journey of living with and loving an addict. She will discuss Hhow addiction is tearing families apart emotionally, diminishing careers, and draining financial assets. By exposing the ugly realities of the opioid epidemic, her mission is to educate advisors on what it is, how we got here, the financial toll on your clients, the economic burden, and the impact to your business.  Join us to learn how the opioid crisis is becoming part of the financial planning discussion and why she thinks things are about to get worse before it gets better and what you can do to prepare.
