What’s your favorite Girl Scout cookie? Thin Mint, Samoas…Girl Scout cookie sales often top the list in the first quarter of the year, but did you know that the Girl Scout cookie program is also the world’s largest girl-led business? In fact, 80% of women business owners were Girl Scouts. Perhaps they got their start in the Girl Scout cookie program.
On March 11, Kristi Brandon (Director of Development) and Anita Walton (Director of Product Sales) will present about Girl Scouts and its financial literacy program. Girl Scouts of Gateway Council serves more than 13,000 girls and 5,700 adults in 16 counties in North Florida. One of the first Girl Scout troops started in this area. One hundred years later, the mission of Girl Scouts is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Together with committed adult volunteers, Girl Scouts provides the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to help girls discover their personal best, connect with others in an increasingly diverse world, and take action to solve problems and improve their communities. The Cookie program is just one of the ways girls learn leadership skills through scouting! Join us on March 11 to learn more.
You may also get a chance to win some of your favorite cookies!
