2019 WIFF Woman in Film (OCTOBER 5)

Saturday, October 5, 2019

2:00pm - 4:00pm

The "Westfield IFF Woman in Film Award" is presented to women in the film industry who defy perception. Recipients excel in front of and/or behind the camera in addition to pursuing passions beyond what is widely expected.

ANDREA NAVEDO

A New York native and 2nd generation Puerto Rican, Ms. Navedo is best known for her recent starring turn as Xiomara "Xo" Villanueva on The CW's playful take on the telenovela, "Jane the Virgin."

Beginning her career on the soap opera, "One Life to Live", Ms. Navedo has been acting since the mid 90s and has most recently stepped behind the camera, directing and producing her first short film, "Love Spoken."

Please join us in honoring Ms. Navedo and the example she sets for women everywhere.

**Celebrity appearances are tentative and subject to change as film and television work demands take precedence, as can a personal conflict.**

2019 WIFF Humanitarian in Film (OCTOBER 6: FILM BLOCK #6)

Sunday, October 6, 2019

1:30pm - 4:30pm

Due to scheduling conflicts, Kat Graham will instead be IN ATTENDANCE on Sunday, October 6th.

The "Westfield International Film Festival Humanitarian in Film Award" is presented to individuals within the film industry who have chosen to use their voice and influence to raise awareness and support at risk or marginalized groups.

KAT GRAHAM

Kat Graham, best known for her role as Bonnie Bennett on "The Vampire Diaries" is an actress, singer, dancer and producer. Working across a variety of genres in film, television and music, she is one of the most accomplished and versatile young talents working today.

Graham's international background and celebrity status has afforded her a unique access to, and perspective on, the rest of the world. Witnessing firsthand through her travels some of the global inequalities that can cause human suffering, Graham has made it a priority to leverage her status to fight for those less fortunate.

For this reason, she is our 2019 WIFF HUMANITARIAN IN FILM.

2019 WIFF Rising Stars (OCTOBER 5)

Saturday, October 5, 2019

2:00pm - 4:00pm

The "Westfield International Film Festival Rising Star Award" is presented to individuals who show promise as emerging talents in the film industry, be it as actors, screenwriters, or directors. We predict that award recipients will enjoy successful careers in the industry!

  • Luca Malacrino - Some of Luca's recent credits include "Distant Vision" with Francis Ford Coppola, "Grey's Anatomy," Amazon Prime's "Elephants," "Criminal Minds," "Beyond Borders with AMDA's Paul Sorvino," Jim Carrey's "I'm Dying Up Here," "Babysplitters" with Danny Pudi, as well as a recurring guest starring role as Andrea Abruzzi in ITV Studio's "Coronation Street."

  • Amanda Bear - Content creator, writer, director and actress; Amanda is the creator and star of the hit new original web series, "Bumble Fuck." The show is a comedic series that captures online dating or the 'swipe culture' from the female perspective.

  • Collin Kelly-Sordelet - Collin's most recent credits include James Joseph (JJ) in the Tony Award Winning play, The Ferryman on Broadway, Ray Cooper in Wildling - 2018 film alongside Liv Tyler, and Walt in "Radium Girls" with Joey King.
