Event description

Description

The Wisconsin Black Historical Society Museum will kick off its 30th Anniversary year with a celebratory gala on Saturday, November 3, in the museum’s historic Bernice Lindsey Hall. This evening’s theme is inspired by its 30th
Anniversary, celebrating three decades of preserving African American history. Distinguished guests from Milwaukee’s diverse communities are expected to attend this very special event. In addition, the museum will honor and recognize its Founding Executive Director, Clayborn Benson III.

This year’s gala - the museum’s largest fundraiser - marks a special milestone for the museum and honors the great work that has been done to preserve African American heritage in Wisconsin. You only turn thirty once, as the saying goes, so we have planned very festive event that will feature a video collection with highlights from the last 30 amazing years, dinner, entertainment, and many surprises!

Our guest speaker for the evening is Bill Taylor, influential TMJ4 news anchor/reporter for 30 years from 1972-2002. We are proud to have Attorney John Daniels, Jr. and his wife Irma Daniels as the gala’s hosts.
