Why You Need A Fairy God Boss By Your Side

Join us on Wednesday, October 19th at 6:30 pm for our next Virtual Happy hour with special guest Georgene Huang and Romy Newman, co-founders of Fairygodboss. They will share what led them to create Fairygodboss.com, an online resource for women to review employers and rate how female-friendly their work environment is, how to avoid getting "mommy tracked" and what you can do to increase transparency in the workplace.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Fairygodboss is a career and job destination for women. It’s a great resource through which women can anonymously share their workplace experiences. Founded in March 2015, the mission of Fairygodboss is to improve the workplace for women by creating transparency. They have been called the “yelp” of maternity leave policies by Fortune Magazine.

Co-Founders Georgene Huang and Romy Newman met when they were both executives at Dow Jones.

Georgene led the Enterprise business and product development team for Dow Jones. Previously, she was a Managing Director at Bloomberg Ventures, and spent time at a hedge fund and a law firm. She holds a degree in Economics from Cornell University, and a J.D. from Stanford. Georgene is a proud mother of two, and believes in the ability of information to create positive change

Romy ran digital advertising for The Wall Street Journal, and worked in marketing at Google and Estee Lauder before joining Fairygodboss. Romy graduated with a B.A. in American Studies from Yale and an M.B.A. from Kellogg. She is a proud mother of two, and is motivated by helping other women have the same fantastic career experiences – supported by both great female and male colleagues - that she has had.
