Event description

Description

It's a short note--only 350 words or so as Paul wrote it. It provides no doctrinal insight the way most of Paul's letters do. Paul identifies himself in a unque way as this short epistle begins and the reason for the letter is also unique--he's writing about a run-away slave named Onesimus. So just what are we to make of the short Epistle to Philemon?

In this one-evening intensive we will wrestle with what Paul wanted Philemon (and others who read the letter) to understand. Most importantly for us, we'll come to see why Luther was driven to say that we are all "the Lord's Onesimuses" and why the way Paul writes this little letter has value to us in understanding how the Gospel is lived out.

This class will meet for one evening, Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 6:30 pm at OB Hospitalist Group Offices just off Butler Road, between Mauldin High School and 385. The class will run until about 9:00. We offer classes at no charge, but ask you to register for the class so that we can plan accordingly.
