Event description

Description

The ankle and the hip are the two motion joints of the lower leg. We depend on them for power and support throughout almost all movements. The knee is characterized as a stability joint as it is limited in range to a maximum of 140° of flexion and almost zero of extension.

The ankle has a maximum 360° of movement. The hip joint has a maximum internal range of motion of 40° and a maximum external range of motion of 60°. Sitting and inactivity reduce the range of motion in each of these joints and that lack of range brings about compensations in movement and restrictions in living.

It doesn’t have to be this way. The body and its joints are intended to move in a set but flexible pattern. The body is designed to work efficiently and in line. Muscles are designed to move joints and supported by deep tissue, tendons, and ligaments holding everything in place.
A misalignment at the ankles or the hips will disrupt the flow of neuromuscular information throughout the systems. This lack of accurate information drives compensatory movements throughout the body. These changes will bring about reduced athletic performance, negative postural changes, and pain.

Learn how to be stable and mobile in your sport, in your daily activities, and learn how to keep pain away. Learn how an awkward foot placement leads to poor balance, how a forward head affects your sense of the world around you, and how a stiff ankle drives hip pain. Better, come to the workshop and learn how to avoid these issues. See how easy it is to be aligned and to move with power and grace in all you do.
