Event description

Description

The 2017 Women's March brought many women's issues into sharp focus. Prominent celebrity and cultural figures took to the stage at protests around the country to advocate on all sorts of issues important to women. The National Organization for Women has been a prominent player in these protests and in advocating for women's issues for decades. But is the feminism preached in mainstream protests and through celebrity voices truly empowering women and helping prepare us for the future? Deborah Savage, professor of philosophy and theology at the St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity at the University of St. Thomas, and Ami Wazlawik, president of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Organization for Women will discuss this topic at the upcoming Argument Club for Women.
