Event description

Description

As hateful rhetoric and violence grows in this country and as both the Jewish and Muslim communities have been violently targeted, we take the time to ask: Are they afraid of us? And what can we do about it?

Join SAJ- Judaism that Stands for All and the Muslim-Jewish Solidarity Committee for a panel discussion and iftar meal with two journalists, one Muslim and one Jewish, who seek to understand the roles of Islamophobia and Anti-Semitism in today's world and in our day to day lives. We will explore the many shapes and forms of hate and discuss what we can do to stop the hate and build effective alliances.

Halal and Kosher Iftar meal will follow the conversation and a space for prayer will be made available.

Panelists:
Aymann Ismail, Journalist, Slate
Matt Katz, Journalist, WNYC

Moderator:
Rabbi Lauren Grabelle Herrmann, SAJ
