Join us for presentations from MPACT and Missouri's Parent Education Program that will prepare you for your child's transition from First Steps to early childhood. Trainings will take place daily June 5th thru June 8th 11:30am-1:00pm.
6/5/2023- Understanding the IFSP Process-This workshop helps families of children in the First Steps program or in the process of being evaluated for early interventions understand the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) process and how to be an effective team member. Participants will hear from Missouri's Parent Education Program and learn how they can support your child's learning and development.
6/6/2023 Steps to Success: Making the Jump from Toddler to Preschool (IDEA Part C to Part B)- This webinar is designed to help parents of young children make the jump from toddler (Part C of IDEA) to Pre-schooler (Part B of IDEA). Learn when the transition process should begin, what the difference in services will be, and how Missouri's Parent Education Program can support families through the transition process.
6/7/2023 Understanding the Evaluation Process- The evaluation process is the first step in determining if a child needs special education services, a Section 504 Plan, or another educational intervention. Parents need to understand the reasons to have a child evaluated, the steps in the evaluation process, and the options that can be pursued if there is a disagreement about evaluation.
6/8/2023 Understanding the IEP Process-Your child’s IEP is the cornerstone of their education. The webinar offers an in-depth look at the evaluation process, qualifying for an IEP, the many components that must be addressed in the IEP document, and how progress will be monitored. As a result of this training, parents will better understand their role as equal participants in the IEP process.
