Whole Foods Market - Tenafly Nature Center Clean Up (Kids' Day of Service)
Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM (EDT)
Calling all families and kids! Join us for a fun fall volunteer project at Tenafly Nature Center, a non-profit, member supported nature preserve and leader in environmental education for Tenafly, Bergen County and New Jersey. Their mission is to protect nearly 400 wooded acres, all of its inhabitants and teach the next generations to do the same.
We are excited to roll up our sleeves and provide a community-building, hands-on volunteer opportunity to help with trail maintenance, garbage cleanup, and work in their backyard habitat. This will be a 2-hour project with plenty of tasks for everyone ages 2 and up, including activities on-site for little ones whose attention may wander.
Below, please find a volunteer job description as well as items that may be helpful to bring to Tenafly Nature Center on the day of the event. It is our goal to make your experience fun, uplifting, and kid-friendly. This is a great opportunity for customers, kids, and Whole Foods Market team members to come together in service of our community and help out a wonderful organization.
Also, a build-your-own salad bar lunch will be provided afterward at 12pm to celebrate the day. The salad bar will model the fun of "eating a rainbow" in honor of the Whole Kids Foundation our organization devoted to improving children's nutrition and wellness with the goal of ending the childhood obesity epidemic.
Please join us for a fun-filled day of service and inspiration as we celebrate healthy communities and healthy eating together.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon!
