Whole Foods Market - Lake Forest Open Lands Clean Up Day (Kids' Day of Service)
Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (PDT)
Lake Forest, IL
Calling all kids and families! Join us for a fun fall volunteer project with Lake Forest Open Lands.
We’re excited to roll up our sleeves to help enhance sections of the ravine and beach front property at McCormick Ravine Woods Nature Preserve located on Sheridan Road in Lake Forest, IL. The cleanup efforts will be organized and managed by Lake Forest Open Lands’ land restoration manager and Whole Foods Market Deerfield. The volunteer activities taking place at McCormick Ravine will include trash removal, trail improvements, non-native species removal, bluff restoration and native species plantings. Approximately 75% of the work is removal of trash. This will be a family friendly, 2 hour project with tasks for everyone 2 and up.
Below, please find a volunteer job description and a list of items that may be helpful to bring on the day of the project. It's our goal to make your experience fun, uplifting, and kid-friendly. This is an opportunity for customers, team members, and kids to partner together in service to our community. We'll have plenty of tasks and games on site for little ones whose attention may wander. The best part is being all together!
Also, well have a magical build-your-own salad-bar for kids and grown-ups, plus all the fixings. Join us in modeling the fun of "eatin a rainbow" in honor of the Whole Kids Foundation! Please join us for a fun-filled day of service and inspiration as we celebrate healthy communities and healthy eating together!
