About this Event

Event Details

The Dialogue Society is a registered charity in the United Kingdom and hosts events nationwide. Its Sheffield branch has been active for more than 12 years. Before or after every event, some of the attendees have some common questions in mind about this society. As easily understandable from its title, all its business is "dialogue". But why? What is the ideology behind the concept of dialogue? What are the people in this society like?

Some of the people do some research on this society and reach even a higher number of questions in their mind. What is the connection between the Dialogue Society and the Gulen/Hizmet Movement? What does it have to do with the scholar Mr Fethullah Gulen? What roots does this movement have in Turkey? What happened in Turkey in July 2016?

Having been asked these questions several times, the Dialogue Society Sheffield Branch has decided to answer all these questions arisen and invites you to this event.

The event will take place on Thursday, 24th October 2019 at the community building in Attercliffe, Sheffield. The event will start at 7pm and will consist of two sessions and a refreshment break. We kindly invite anyone who is interested. We also believe that such events give us the opportunity to get together and get to know new people. Therefore, everyone is welcome. The event is free of charge.
