Event description
Former Stanford Admission Officer, Isamar will tell you all about what admission officers of top universities are looking for.

About this Event

Ever had a burning question you wish you could ask an Admissions Officer directly? Well now, here's your chance!

Crimson Education presents Isamar, Stanford's former Assistant Director of Admissions, Harvard grad, and Crimson educational consultant.

At this event, Isamar will be answering questions such as:

  • How important are my GCSEs and A-level results when it comes time to apply?
  • What exactly are Admission Officers of top U.S. universities looking for in an application from a UK student?
  • What does a typical applicant's profile look like?
  • What specific mistakes hold back an application from standing out?
  • What are some stereotypical essay topics to avoid?

Isamar will focus on how admissions officers in the U.S. actually read applications from international students. Get honest answers and behind-the-scenes information about the inner workings of admissions at an Ivy League university and other top tier US universities from this event!

Invite your friends and family for the chance to ask Isamar, in-person, your questions regarding university selections and the US Admissions process.

About Isamar

Isamar received her B.A. from Harvard College in Psychology, with a Language Citation in French. She also completed her Ed.M. in International Education Policy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. As an undergraduate at Harvard, she was a research assistant in a psychology lab and a bulk of her time was spent as a student intern and volunteer leader with the Harvard College Office of Admission.

After developing an international college mentorship programme in Brazil, Isamar joined the Stanford University Office of Undergraduate Admission, where she was an Assistant Director of Admission, focused on diversity and access programmes. She oversaw the outreach, review, and selection of approximately 7,000 applications from the US, UK and beyond. Isamar is committed to helping students realise and reveal their authentic selves as they pursue personal excellence.

We will also be providing an opportunity for everyone to have their questions answered and set up individual conversations with an academic advisor, to find out how you can give yourself the best chance of gaining admission to the world’s best UK universities. Check out our results here.
