Description

Boozhoo!

Please join us for the White Earth Nation's Annual Harm Reduction Summit from Tuesday May 1st through Thursday May 3rd, at the Shooting Star Casino and Event Center in Mahnomen, Minnesota.

This annual summit provides an opportunity for health, chemical health, and social service providers as well as community members to focus on HIV, Hepatitis C, STIs, TB, and Drug Use in the tribal and rural communities in a mutually respectful and supportive environment. There are interest tracks for community members and health professionals on HCV, HIV, TB and reducing the harm from drug use. In addition, there is a focus on linkage to care, retention, and treatment.

This year's summit has an emphasis on the different facets of Harm Reduction - from philosophy and theory, to building the skills for putting Harm Reduction ideas into practice. We are looking to focus on continuing progress, integration across a variety of services, and developing innovative approaches that support long-term solutions. We also hope to provide practical tips and skills-building opportunities for people to bring back to their program and communities with our "Hands-On Harm Reduction Series".
