Whiskey & Poetry: Highlander Edition, with Tara Skurtu & Siobhan O´Rourke
Event Information
Description
It´s been a while since we had a session, so we thought we would put together another night of fine whiskies, coupled with brilliant poetry and fantastic tunes.
On February 15th we are delighted to welcome back to Vienna Tara Skurtu, who will be presenting her debut collection of poems The Amoeba Game. Tara was a guest of Whiskey & Poetry back in 2016. She will be joined on the night by Siobhan O´ Rourke, a singer, violinist and all round source of positive creativity.
As always, we will be pouring 5 different whiskies for you to taste - with tasting notes provided. Members of the audience are also invited and encouraged (but not obliged!) to bring along a poem to share with the group. It could be something you wrote yourself or something you borrowed. Either way, this is a perfect setting to enjoy poetry and, perhaps, conquer that fear of reading in public! (It´s a small group, so don´t be shy!)
Finger food will also be provided.
There are 28 spaces available. Tickets must be purchased prior to the event to help us plan! (the sooner the better...)

Siobhan O´Rourke is an Irish-Australian singer and violinist who grew up performing on stage. While studying opera at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Siobhan continued working as a jazz and folk musician and she has performed on many independent albums, including a track that won Best Australian Song at the 2008 Australian Songwriting Awards. There is nothing Siobhan loves more than a jam session with friends, and she is looking forward to performing a cool mix of Irish and jazz with Croatian-born guitarist, Tonci Marinic. Tonci teaches guitar and drums at Danube International School and has been playing for theatre and film, in rhythm and blues bands, at jazz festivals and as a session muso for over 30 years. Siobhan and Tonci are looking forward to previewing their musical collaboration for the Whiskey and Poetry audience.
