Event description
A three-part, unscripted, booze-infused deep dive into midnight movies, cult classics and underground fan favorites...with special guests!

About this Event

Created and performed by Michael Niederman and Daniel McCoy

In 2017 Mike and Dan launched the podcast “Whiskey Flicks,” an exploration of midnight movies. Each pod was recorded after a midnight movie screening, on the street, around 2 in the morning, in between sips of whiskey. Now in 2021 they’re at it again, except through a Zoom screen, and at a more reasonable hour. But the spirit remains the same!

For Whiskey Flicks Live! MIDNIGHT MADNESS!!!, Mike and Dan return to their roots for a three-part series exploring a century of midnight, cult, experimental, grindhouse, underground, and just plain weird-ass flicks, asking the questions, "Why do film fans love these movies in the first place? And why do we feel the need to go outside the mainstream for our persona-defining tastes?"

And for the first time since Whiskey Flicks went Live!, the show will feature some Very Special Guests: actor, writer, podcaster, and Neo-Futurist Yeauxlanda Kay; musician, writer, actor, and Neo-Futurist Kyra Sims; and actor, Neo-Futurist (notice a pattern here?), and the voice of “Welcome to Night Vale,” Cecil Baldwin. See below for the full schedule.

True to form, Mike (and guests) don’t know what Dan’s going to show them, Dan doesn’t know what Mike (and guests) are going to say, and the audience is along for the ride. Tickets are pay-what-you-wish, and the freakiness is free. BYOB!!!

Whiskey Flicks Live! MIDNIGHT MADNESS!!! performs on the following date/guest schedule:

Friday, April 16 @ 8pm - Yeauxlanda Kay

Friday, April 23 @ 8pm - Kyra Sims

Friday, April 30 @ 8pm - Cecil Baldwin

Please note that this series will contain some graphic and disturbing imagery and may be inappropriate for children under 15 or adults with the heebie-jeebies.
