Description

Where’s the Panic Button? Creating and Updating a Crisis Communication Plan

Learn how to be proactive in addressing threats to your organization’s reputation.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.; program begins at noon and concludes by 1 p.m.

News cycles are shorter and the list of potential crises keeps getting longer. Data breaches, #metoo and the ever-present camera eye of social media have opened new realms of corporate chaos. How can you respond more quickly and efficiently to these threats? It starts with a crisis communication plan. And if you already have a plan, you must update it to face these new realities. Dr. Matt Tidwell will address questions including:

  • What needs to change in our plans?

  • What needs to change in our crisis training?

  • Who should control our organization’s social media in a crisis?

It’s not if, but when. Be prepared.

Matt Tidwell, Ph.D., APR, is a veteran business communicator and director of the master’s degree program in marketing communications at KU’s Edwards Campus. He also teaches crisis communications to students in the school’s master’s in homeland security program.
