The Next 5 Years for You and Your Business
Special Guest Ravi Kulkarni of Clear Vision Alliance
October 17th and 18th, 2016 from 9-11:30am
During this facilitated conversation, we want to get the perspective of participants regarding their concerns and opportunities for the future. Discussions will also include internal and external changes both seen and not yet seen along with their impact on business. The foundation for subsequent sessions will build upon this information.
The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes."
The economy has been on the rise ever so slowly for the last 8 years, but it cannot continue to grow forever. Baby Boomers will someday soon transition out of the workforce and will have to change their spending habits. A group of millennials are ready to settle down, start a family, and buy homes which fuel demands not yet experienced in recent times. Technology is a disrupter and accelerator of change and has changed consumer buying habits. Globalization of economy and balancing of economic power will have an impact creating demand for products and services that are not yet invented.
"You can never plan for the future by the past." Edmund Burke
How relevant is your product, service, and business model? What is your frame of reference for making business decisions, the past and present experience, or the knowledge of the future? Historic data may not help you plan for the future nor can you predict the future accurately with the current pace of change. But we believe you can plan for the next five years from where you are today- hence the theme Where Will You be in 5 Years?
We ask that participants bring their own research and studies for the discussions. Pre-assignment will be given to all participants in advance in the form of some articles to read and a survey to complete to stimulate the conversation. These sessions are a safe place for shared knowledge, experience, and intellectual conversations.
Facilitator Ravi Kulkarni, principal of Clear Vision Alliance in Springfield, Massachusetts, is very skilled in the study of various trends both internal and external- and their impact on businesses. Knowing where you are headed helps you develop a plan to get there. Vision is a collection of your thoughts on why you are doing what you are doing, how you see your life's desires and ambitions align with your business, and arriving at the destination in your mind. It also requires taking a good scan of your business and business model in relation to changing environments and asking yourself a few questions- such as what is the purpose of your business? What business are you in? What business do you want to be in 5 years from now? Do you want to grow and if so, why? In this session we'll discuss the fundamental process of creating a vision for your business. This will help you clarify your end game whether you're in your 25th year of operation or just in the beginning phase.
