Event description
Presenting an enchanting staged reading you won't want to miss - bring masks and chairs and join us!

About this event

One weekend only, join us for an engaging return to LIVE theatre! May 21st, 22nd, and 23rd at 7:00pm, Summit presents a live, outdoor, staged reading of WHERE WE STAND by Donnetta Lavinia Grays, featuring Manon Voice and directed by Dwandra Nickole Lampkin.

Location: Allen Whitehill Clowes Amphitheater on Marian University's campus.

About the Play

WHERE WE STAND is a long-form poem with humor, heart, and music that tells the story of a woman standing before her town asking them for forgiveness after she has made a deal with a mysterious stranger on their behalf. More than a recounting of events, this piece both engages and implicates the audience in determining the woman’s fate.

Know Before You Go

Please note, seating is divided into socially distanced sections, 1-4 people per section. Seating will be pre-marked and assigned, and masks will be required for attendees at all times, per current Marian University campus rules. Be sure to bring your own blanket/chair as all seating is grass lawn. Masks and hand-sanitizer will be available on-site. The actor will not be masked but will be socially-distanced at all times. Free parking, BYO blankets or chairs, beverages and snacks (no alcohol permitted), and enjoy live theatre on the most beautiful spot on campus at Marian University!

When purchasing your ticket, please list any other patrons who plan to sit in your section but are purchasing tickets separately so that we can plan accordingly and keep everyone as safe as possible.
