Event description

Description

HAVE YOU BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A CONDITION OR DISABILITY IN THE LAST 1- 2+ YEARS?

ARE UNABLE TO EXPRESS HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THE CHANGES, YOU HAVE HAD TO MAKE IN YOUR LIFE ?

YOUR COPING MECHANISMS NO LONGER WORKING ?

WHY NOT JOIN US.......During the month of May the spotlight will be on mental health and self awareness. Those who attended my previous workshops will know that i explore the 4 categories of disability using the social model of disability ideology and principles.

However the category that still appears to have the biggest taboo with in society is mental health, many list all their diagnosis and exclude mental health.

In my 3rd work shop in the series WHEN YOU SAY "im fine" ARE YOU REALLY ?.

The focus will be on mental health and emotional wellbeing, as it is recognised that many individuals that have long term or chronic disabilities also have mental health concerns

Mental health is not the barrier, choosing not to acknowledge it or your choice of coping mechanism however can be.

Through a series of thought provoking discussions, fun, theraputic games and exercises; this session will explore the challenges of managing a mental health or other disabilities. We will also begin to explore coping strategies and the impact this, has when trying to conform to societies ideals and norms.
