When Existing Jobs Don’t Fit: Creative Job Development for a Challenging Economy

About this event

When Existing Jobs Don’t Fit: Creative Job Development for a Challenging Economy (Saturday, January 1 - Monday, January 31, 2022)

For many of individuals, the current job postings are not a good job match for a variety of reasons. Now more than ever we need to learn about the employer’s business needs, customize the job match to meet those needs and the unique skills and attributes of the job seeker. This training will discuss how to identify all the skills, abilities and interests of your job seeker, create job seeker tasks lists and identify employers to target based on all the information you have gathered. You will also learn how to negotiate with employers using business strategies and language, write an employment proposal and finalize the job offer.

This workshop will be available around the clock (24/7) from January 1 - January 31, 2022. It should take about twelve hours to complete. Participation is self-paced and flexible. Included are a variety of formats: readings, presentations, discussion forums, videos, professional development activities, and assignments. An instructor will be available on a regular basis throughout the month to answer questions and give feedback.
