Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

One of our deepest desires is to be happy and in order to be so, it helps us to understand what we truly want from our life and to do from a connection with our true sense of self, energy and desires. When we do this, we can then understand what we genuinely wish to manifest and the pleasure and joy of just being truly ourselves. In this place, we are able to get our needs and desires met consciously and are also able to have clear boundaries in how we intentionally meet the needs and desires of others. It is not just intimate relationships that revolve around consent and boundaries but when you look at it, it affects our interactions with all sorts of people, for example, children, work colleagues and clients as well as friends and family.

As human beings, we have needs and desires in many areas. We are however, often "programmed" so that we are not able to own our needs and desires. We may have been told that we don’t deserve them or not even allowed to have them. Many of us have learnt to disconnect from our needs and desires and get to a place where we truly don’t know what we want. As a result, we often develop unconscious strategies for getting our needs met and as they are not conscious, they can be manipulations and not obtained through true authentic consent. This lack of clarity in understanding and owning what we really want can result in difficult dynamics in our relationships not only with others but also ourselves and even the world around us.

Dr Betty Martin’s Wheel of Consent model is a fantastic tool for understanding our dynamic, improving communication with everyone and especially for setting boundaries and so we are delighted that we have been able to work with Betty herself in devising this workshop.

In this workshop we use the Wheel of Consent to explore improving communication with the people in our lives and setting boundaries using the medium of platonic touch. Experience has shown that feeling what is happening in our body through touch facilitates us connecting to our true desires, wishes and boundaries. Touch is more instinctual than the programming we have in our mind so working with it allows us to literally “feel into” what we want. For many people, attending this workshop has enabled them to connect with aspects of their lives they were not previously conscious of. So come along and join us if you want to explore this area and understand more about your own dynamic with consent and with yourself and others.

This day workshop:

• Allows you start right where you are, whether you are new to the idea or wildly experienced, it doesn’t matter. Wherever you start, you will find a new level of awareness.

• Helps you to clarify your desires and identify your "programming."

• Is experiential – you will have the opportunity to use platonic touch to practice and explore in a safe environment. It is only in the experience of touch that it will make sense.

• Respects your boundaries – you never have to touch or be touched by anyone or anywhere you don’t want to. In fact, you will be shown how to be clearer about that for yourself and learn tools that help you to express your boundaries.

• Supports you improving your confidence and strengthen communication skills, particularly in asking for what you truly want.

• Provides you with a game to take home that allows you to play with the Wheel within your boundaries which is fun and that you can make sensual, playful or any other quality you wish to bring to it.

• Gives you a special bonus of a half the full price offer for the next conscious touch workshop where you can practice your newly acquired skills in a safe and nurturing environment. For details see here.

So come and join us and find out, amongst other things, what you want, what you really, really want!
