About this Event
Per the State of Illinois, reservations are now required for ice skating this season.
Advance reservations & tickets are required and can be reserved up to seven days in advance. Reservations are valid for the selected 45-minute time slot and are non-refundable. Refunds will be issued in the event of weather-related cancellations.
Current capacity for the open skate rink is 20 skaters at a time.
Skate rentals are not available.

- Monday-Saturday | 11A-8P
- Sunday | 11A-6P
Closed Christmas Day & New Year's Day.
Shortened hours (11A-3P) on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve
FEES
Wheaton Park District Residents (Valid WPD ID required) | Free
Non-Residents*:
- $7 Adults (18-54)
- $5 Seniors (55+)
- $5 Kids (17 & under)
*Online processing fees are additional.
Central Athletic Complex Ice Skating Rules
All posted rules are to be SELF-ENFORCED.
The Wheaton Park District strongly encourages community members to take the necessary measures to follow the posted rules which comply with State of Illinois Tier 2 Mitigations and the All Sports Policy. While we have confidence in our community members to make the right decision, we cannot guarantee compliance with the posted rules. These rules and guidelines have been created in response to rising COVID cases, for the safety of yourself and others.
*Staff are onsite EXCLUSIVELY to manage reservations, monitor ice conditions, and administer first aid when necessary.
• Rink access is only available during posted hours and with a pre-purchased, timed-entry ticket.
• Tickets must be presented (printed or on a mobile device)at the admissions booth.
• Wheaton Park District residents must present a valid park district-issued id at check-in. Failure to show a valid park district id will require ticket payment at the non-resident rate.
• All guests must have a ticket regardless of whether they are skating.
• Children 12 or younger must be accompanied by a paid adult.
• Social distance of at least 6 ft. should be maintained between non-household individuals.
• Participants must wear masks or face coverings over their nose and mouth at all times.
• Due to the limited availability, repeated no-shows may result in loss of skating privileges.
• A maximum of 1 time slot per day can be reserved for each participant. Multiple days can be reserved at once if it is within the 7 day reservation window.
Open Skate Rink Rules
• Skate at your own risk | no sticks, pucks, shooting devices or hockey allowed
• Wheelchairs are permitted on the ice, if accompanied by a person wearing skates or ice cleats.
• Participants must keep moving.
• Rough-housing, excessive speeding or weaving through other skaters is forbidden.
• Tag and other games are prohibited.
• No jumps, spins, figure or backward skating.
