At our next meeting of Creative Women in Business we gather together to share, support and inspire each other. This month we welcome CWiB member Katherine Baldwin, journalist, storyteller, writer, speaker and coach to share her workshop on:
What's your Story? ~ How to write a compelling story about your business and get featured in the press
Meeting will be hosted by Sonraya Grace at our new venue The Old School House, Boscombe.
Please arrive from 9.45 am to get yourself settled and get your tea or coffee. We will start the meeting at 10 am.
The first part of the meeting we will have time for relaxed introductions with opportunity for you to share any particular news, updates and key issues you are dealing with.
The workshop led by Katherine will be for the main body of our meeting, for about an hour.
We will then finish by looking at how we can practically apply some of the learnings from the workshop to our business and share our next steps.
You are welcome to stay around afterwards up until 1 pm to mingle and connect with each other.
Workshop led by Katherine Baldwin:
The aim of this workshop is to help you translate the passion you have about your business into a great story so others feel that passion too and to help you navigate the media world so you can get your message into the press, on the radio or on the TV.
Together, we’ll work through a number of exercises to help you identify the most compelling aspect of your business or your story and to help you tell that story authentically and powerfully in a way that draws clients to you and convinces your favourite magazine, newspaper or broadcast outlet to feature your business.
By the end of this workshop you will know how to write an eye-catching, newsworthy story about your business so you can communicate your message effectively, capture the public's imagination and make sure journalists and editors notice you.
Katherine is a journalist, storyteller, writer, speaker and coach. She has spent the last 20 years writing professionally, for leading news organisations like Reuters, popular magazines including Red, Psychologies and Easy Living and national newspapers including the Guardian and The Daily Mail.
Katherine uses her journalism and storytelling skills, her knowledge of the media and her natural coaching ability to help individuals and businesses tell powerful, passionate stories and get their message into the media and out into the world.
