Description

What’s the Problem? Using Contexts to Support Mathematical Thinking

Grade Level: K-2

Content Focus: Operations and Algebraic Thinking

Come explore the different word problem situations that help students understand the operations of addition and subtraction!

This two-day workshop will support you in learning more about using contexts to help students make sense of addition and subtraction. We will engage with the different problem situations and make sense of ways students might represent their thinking. Participants will have a chance to explore different math tools and manipulatives to use with students.

You will be provided with activities that can be used in your classroom all while collaborating with colleagues.
