Event description
Homelessness in San Francisco is not an easy problem to solve, especially during a pandemic. What did we do and what did learn?

About this event

There is no getting around the fact that homelessness in San Francisco and throughout the country is a big problem.

The pandemic forced many into worse economic conditions and many more are on the brink. Prop C has provided the city with a billion dollar budget to provide it's homeless services.

What did San Francisco do to protect its homeless population during the pandemic?

What's going to happen to everyone in the hotels?

What's on the horizon to get more people off the streets?

What does a billion dollar budget for homelessness look like in real terms?

Did we learn any lessons from the pandemic about housing our homeless population?

In the next installment of the "What We Learned" series, Manny's welcome the Director of the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing.

The structure of this event will be about 45 minutes of discussion with Director McSpadden followed by small break out groups where YOU can meet some new folks and discuss what you just heard. We hope to help solicit a more collaborative discussion and hear the diverse stories in our city.

Manny's never turns away anyone for lack of funds. To receive a complementary ticket just email the word "grapefruit" and the title of this event to tomas@welcometomannys.com.

This event will be in person at Manny's but there will also be a Zoom link ticket for those who'd like to tune in digitally from the comfort of their home.
