Description

Investing in Technology to Advance Your Message - What to Consider When Incorporating Digital Tools and Systems into Your Work

Creating an effective digital strategy can be daunting. Especially when the pace of technology innovation seems to be oupacing our ability to keep up.

Digital infrastructure can improve organizational efficiency, streamlining manual and time-consuming processes while innovative digital tools have the potential to increase the reach and quality of programs and services. However, in a sector that is already operationally underfunded and under-resourced, effectively incorporating digital tools and systems into your work is a challenge. There are many potential tools and ways you can incorporate technology into your work, so where do you even begin?

In this workshop, we'll learn how to approach developing a digital strategy that folds into the work you're already doing. We'll answer questions around how to properly identify parts of your work that could benefit from digital intervention, how you should think about staffing, and what you should consider when implementing a new digital tool or process. Participants do not need to have any technical knowledge to attend.

Key Takeaways:

  • How to fold digital strategy into your organizational and programmatic strategies
  • How to identify organizational activities that could benefit from digital interventions
  • Things to consider when rolling out a new digital tool or process

This workshop will be presented by Mel Peterson, Organizational Design Strategist at Weav Studio, and Nicole Chi, Founder of Intentful Tech Collaborative.

Area of Excellence: Information Technology (IT)
