Welcome to What They Didn't Teach You in Design School!

Design schools teach the fundamentals of designing a space, but they fail to teach how to bring a design project to fruition in a real-world application! Strong construction knowledge is now essential for today’s interior designers, in order to design to a client’s timeline and their bottom line, as well as working effectively with a contractor on a jobsite. In this session, you’ll learn the key construction concepts every designer must understand to design spaces that are not only beautiful, but functional and financially feasible. Learn tricks like how to identify a bearing wall in the structure of a house, to understanding the sequence of events in a construction project. And how it can impact our designs from the very beginning!
