Event description

Description

Dr. Penny Gurstein, past Director of UBC’s School of Community and Regional Planning, has researched the development of strategies that encourage diversity, equity and urban sustainability in the planning and design of communities. As a current member of the Board of Commissioners of BC Housing, she is particularly focused on investigating ways to realize both affordable home ownership and rentals.

Dr, Gurstein believes that False Creek South is a highly successful model that should be expanded with the full participation of residents, and that a vigorous media policy could help decision-makers become more aware of opportunities that exist here and now.

*Please note: The venue for this event has moved to Creekview Housing Co-op, at 1483 Lamey's Mill Rd*
