Atlanta Workshop Players NEXT Master Series Workshop with BILL TIMONEY:

WHAT NOBODY TELLS YOU ABOUT AN ACTING CAREER

Saturday, March 24th, 3pm-7pm

WORKSHOP DETAILS: Actor Bill Timoney calls his approach to the Entertainment Industry “Practically Acting.” His insights into the “practical” aspects of conducting business as a professional actor can help move forward the careers of newbies and veterans alike. From what to say - and not to say - in an audition to the best way to develop industry contacts, Bill’s practical approach to the profession can empower local actors to maximize their access to career opportunity!

With movies and TV shows flooding into Atlanta at a record pace, the time for local performers to upgrade their career aspirations from “hobbyist” to “professional” is Now. But while many area schools and academies provide stellar training in the Acting craft, certain survival skills about the Acting BUSINESS can only be discovered through actual on-set experience.

INTRODUCING Actor BILL TIMONEY: He entered the profession when he earned his Screen Actors Guild membership card in 1978. He has been professionally employed on stage, on camera and on mic for forty years in the Los Angeles and New York City markets. Bill has performed on Broadway and in Regional Theater, in movies, on prime time and daytime TV shows, TV commercials, and in animated programs. In addition to his career as a performer, Bill has worked as a director, producer, screenwriter, stand-up comic, casting director, and acting coach.

Bill has enjoyed a long professional collaboration with his friend, actor Bryan Cranston. He appears with Cranston in the films THE INFILTRATOR, WAKEFIELD, and ALL THE WAY. He also did voice work in Cranston’ Oscar-nominated TRUMBO. Bill works as Cranston’s dialogue coach for the actor’s theater roles, including his Tony Award-winning performance as LBJ in the 2014 “Best Play” Tony Award winner “All The Way,” and his current role as mad TV newsman “Howard Beale” in the stage adaptation of the classic film NETWORK at London’s National Theater. Cranston recently employed Bill as the on-set acting coach for the child actors in the cast of “The Dangerous Book for Boys,” which Cranston’s production company Moonshot is producing for Amazon.

Bill’s recent TV work includes roles on “Orange is the New Black,” “Mr. Robot,” “Person of Interest,” and “Blue Bloods.” Bill recently filmed a scene with actor Robert De Niro in director Martin Scorcese’s latest feature THE IRISHMAN.
