Event Details

On May 3, the Fund for Our Economic Future launched What Matters to Metros™, our analysis of 115 mid-sized metropolitan areas between 1990 and 2011. The data and its analysis will inform much our Fund’s Phase 4 work in the region and serve as an important resource for your local metropolitan areas. I hope you will share this research report with your board and networks, and consider attending one of four community forums planned in June.

What Matters to Metros™: Foundational Indicators for Economic Competitiveness suggests that local and regional stakeholders would benefit from a reassessment of what it means to grow and to thrive in a post-recession economy. Visit to read the report and learn more about its key findings.

Community forums, focusing on local data and its meaning, are planned in each of Northeast Ohio’s four metros in June 2013.  Please join us for a forum in your metro area:

  • Canton: June 5, 9:30 am - 11:30 am at Stark Community Foundation
Partners: Stark Community Foundation & Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce
  • Youngstown/Warren: June 20, 8:30 am - 10:30 am, D.D. Velma Davis Education & Visitors Center, Fellows Riverside Gardens at Mill Creek MetroParks
Partners: The Raymond John Wean Foundation, The Trumbull 100 & The Youngstown Foundation, & Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio
  • Akron: June 24, 10 am - 12 pm, The University of Akron's Quaker Square Inn
Partners: The University of Akron & Akron Community Foundation
  • Cleveland: June 28, 8 am - 10 am, Cleveland Metroparks Watershed Stewardship Center
