Advanced Mediation Training for General Civil and Domestic Relations Mediators

(SNOW DAY: If the Grand Rapids Public Schools close on February 7, the training will occur on Feb. 12, 2019)

REGISTRATION: 8:30 am - 9:00 am. Training begins promptly at 9:00 am!

SCAO approval pending for up to 8 hours of advanced mediation training required by MCR 2.411(F)(4) and MCR 2.316 to remain on court rosters. The full 8 hours will consist of 7 hours of in-class training and 1 hour pre-session work via the internet. See * below.

> Pre-Session Interactive Exercise*: View a mediation video for hands-on practice identifying party needs, interests and emotions. (*This segment is designed to include some quick pre-seminar work on your part which will allow us to shorten your in-person training by an hour! When you register, we will send you instructions to earn an hour of AMT credit via the internet from your desk or in your jammies!)

FAQs

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Covered parking below street level is available across Ottawa Avenue from the Courthouse in either the City or the 5/3 Bank garages. An open air lot is located directly behind the Courthouse on Ionia Avenue.

What can I bring into the event?

Due to security screening, no weapons of any kind are allowed into the Courthouse. You are encouraged to bring your own lunch. You are welcome to bring cell phones, snacks, food and bottled water. Coffee and water will be provided.

What's the refund policy?

Full refunds will be made through January 31, 2019. Sorry, no refunds thereafter.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No. But if you register within two days of the event and do not complete and return the at-home pre-training assignment, you may not be entitled to claim more than 7 hours of advanced training credit.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
