Description

The Platypus Affiliated Society hosts a reading group on the history of the Left and the history of Marxism.

Topics covered in the reading group include: Neo-Marxism, Gender and Sexuality, Anti-Black Racism in the U.S., Frankfurt School precursors, Capital in history, Bougeois Society, Failure of Marxism, Utopia and critique, Socialism, Revolution in 1848, Bonapartism, Critique of Political Economy, Reification, Class Consciousness, and the ends of philosophy.

The syllabus, and all the readings are available online. Email us for the syllabus specific to Platypus Berkeley's schedule.

Required readings are expected to be done before the reading group as the reading group consists of discussions and presentations.
