Event description

Description

A hands-on workshop for parents for 2-8 year olds: Parents will design an Inquiry Learning Project for their child to work on at home this summer, individualized to their child’s interests.

Your goal: For your children to grow to be innovators, problem-solvers, and changemakers.

"Changemakers are people who see the patterns around them, identify problems in any situation, figure out ways to solve the problem, organize fluid teams, lead collective action and then continually adapt as situations change." ~ David Brooks

Inquiry Learning is the process we use to create change. It is how we solve problems where the answers are unknown. Our children will need to be Inquiry Learners.

"What is Inquiry Learning?" is a workshop for parents of preschool and elementary age children who want to explore:

  • What do schools mean when they say they do Inquiry Learning?
  • How does curriculum look different with Inquiry Learning versus a traditional approach?
  • What are the skills of Inquiry Learning?
  • How can parents create a culture of Inquiry Learning for their children at home?

During the hands on workshop parents will design individualized Inquiry Learning projects for their children to work on this summer.

Is child care available?
