WHAT HAPPENS NEXT: JEWISH UNDERSTANDINGS OF AFTERLIFE AND MESSIAH
Are there Jewish teachings about what happens after we die? You may have heard that Judaism has nothing to say about this, but it does!
That brings in the ideas of heaven and hell, of messiah, and whether Jews believe people can or should be "saved." You may be surprised that Judaism offers a wealth of teachings on these topics.
Finally, how are Jewish beliefs about messiah different from Christian beliefs? Are we still waiting for the messiah?
We will explore these questions in an open atmosphere, including how these traditions might speak to us personally.
WHO: All are welcome. We learn together in an open environment that makes no assumptions about prior Jewish knowledge. You don't have to be Jewish to draw on the riches of Jewish wisdom!
