This session will present an overview of the most practical visa solutions for employers seeking to hire foreign nationals. The session is geared to help San Diego employers, employees and non-immigration lawyers alike identify the most common issues and pitfalls of employment-based visa sponsorship under the federal immigration law. Topics to be covered will include: employer's responsibilities, length of work visas, compliance with wage laws, education and experience requirements, and options for family member dependents.

About the Speaker:

Vidal Cordova is a San Diego immigration lawyer with expertise in advising employers, professional athletes, artists and families on U.S. immigration law matters. Vidal teams up with growing businesses and human resources managers to ensure that his clients secure the most talented professionals within their industries. With a breadth of experience in the engineering, biotechnology, action sports, financial services and corporate management industries, Vidal provides advanced immigration solutions to his clients. Among his practice focus areas, Vidal counsels clients on adjustment of status, citizenship, H-1B and L visas, PERM and labor certification, O and P visas for professional athletes, EB-1 petitions for scientists, outstanding researcher petitions, national interest waivers, skilled workers, asylum, and waivers of inadmissibility.


Vidal received his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2004, is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, and is admitted to the Georgia Supreme Court. He is also member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the San Diego County Bar Association, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, Surfrider Foundation, and SurfAid International. He is fluent in Spanish.
