Event description

Description

Welcome.

This event is a 2 hour session designed to give you some practical tools that allow you to take a pragmatic approach to what GDPR means to your parish and your specific context.

Why should I give up two hours, I am busy?

There are a number of key reasons.

1 - The briefing document sent by Sherry Sherrington outlines the implications of doing nothing and what actions you should be taking now.

2- We want to give you some practical tools that you can take away. This will save you well in excess of two hours alone!

3- You will meet others and share practically and pragmatically how to approach GDPR.

4- You will leave, we hope, with a greater awareness and a plan

5- You will understand how you will be supported on an ongoing basis as you work with GDPR.

Who Should attend?

We suggest no more than 2 people per parish , one of whom should ideally be clergy and the other, the person who has been identified as the Data Compliance officer who will champion GDPR.

Who is speaking to us and why should I listen?

Revd Mark James, SSM at Christ Church Portsdown. Mark runs a consultancy company www.mojou.co.uk aimed specifically at this topic. Mark comes with 5 years experience in compliance working with Organisations to include Saga, AO.com, Hastings Insurance, NHS, MoD, Salvation Army, CAFOD and Christian Aid (Salt) - Mark has a unique perspective on this subject both in terms of helping organisations attain compliance as well as someone who works and worships within the Anglican community. Mark works with a number of charities as part of his personal commitment to help Charities attain GDPR. Mark is looking forward to working with and supporting you. Sherry Sherrington is the Assistant Diocesan Secretary responsible for delivering GDPR compliance in the Diocese.
