We're talking gender roles, redefining masculinity and femininity, and how gender stereotypes affect our ability to succeed. Our speakers are Sarah Sophie Flicker (National Organizer of the Women's March), Jimmie Briggs (founder, Man Up) and Aminatou Sow (Call Your Girlfriend podcast, Tech LadyMafia).

The Speakers:
Sarah Sophie Flicker is an activist, writer, filmmaker, cultural organizer, creative director, and movement builder. She is a creative director at progressive media production company Art Not War and the creative director of The Citizens Band. She is a national organizer of the Women's March on Washington.
Aminatou Sow is the founder of TechLadymafia, a group that increases visibility and opportunities for women in Tech. She is also a member of the Sundance Institute Director’s Advisory Group and co-hosts Call Your Girlfriend, a podcast for long distance besties everywhere.
Jimmie Briggs is a documentary storyteller, writer and advocate for racial and gender equity. A member of the New York City Mayor’s Gender Equity Commission, he is also an adjunct professor in social change journalism at the International Center of Photography in New York. A graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Jimmie has served as an adjunct professor of investigative journalism at the New School for Social Research, and was a George A Miller Visiting Professor in the Department of African and African-American Studies at the University of Illinois: Champaign-Urbana. He’s a National Magazine Award finalist and recipient of honors from the Open Society Institute, National Association of Black Journalists and the Carter Center for Mental Health Journalism. His 2005 book Innocents Lost: When ChildSoldiers Go To War took readers into the lives of war-affected children around the world. His next book project is an oral history of Ferguson, Missouri in the wake of Michael Brown’s death in 2014. Jimmie holds a Medal of Distinction from Barnard College.
